All our food is freshly prepared on the premises and we go to great lengths to source the best produce for our food, looking first to the rich range of suppliers we have in Sussex. The Sussex Kitchen is committed to using ingredients that have been ethically and responsibly produced, using only free range meats; local dairy and cheeses; free range eggs and poultry; organic grains, flours & pulses; and fair trade coffee & tea. We can also do outside catering if you just want our wonderful food. Please contact us for a quote FINDING US! BY CAR - If travelling by car, find us with google maps, we have a small car park at the rear of the building, otherwise out of office hours you can park at the council offices across the road, charges may apply. BY BUS - We have a bus stop right outside the pub (The stop is called the Pelham Arms) Last buses to Uckfield/Tunbridge Wells/Brighton (Numbers 28/29/29A/29B) are just after 11pm and run regularly throughout the day. (So this is by far the best method of getting to us if you live out of town) click here for timetables. BY TRAIN - We are just a 10/15 minute walk from Lewes train station. BY FOOT - The Pelham Arms is perfectly placed for visitors enjoying a day in Lewes wandering around shops, or for walkers exploring the South Downs and South Down Way. A favourite weekend walk of regulars from Brighton is to catch the bus to Ditchling Beacon (Number 79) and walk over the Downs via Black Cap to Lewes, come in for lunch/supper then catch the bus back to Brighton from outside the pub.
